Mighty {Five Minute "Friday"}

It all started with him serving me the best chai lattes and my addiction to caffeine and quiet places to study. And here we are 12 years later and the poor guy is still serving me. Not just chai's (but sometimes still chai...), but...everything.
Picture
He is at work before most are out of bed and works long days and puts delicious meals on the table.

He is strong - strong enough to lay down his own desires. Strong enough to get off the couch and onto the floor to build another track, or crash another hotwheel, or dance with a pretty princess. Strong enough to never be too tired for the most important things.

He is brave enough to put up with the fiercest of temper tantrums. Even mine.

He is generous with his complements.

Oh, and then there was that time he (re)built us a home... while working full time...because it had to be done. And he delivered. As he always does.

He's my man and I am mighty lucky to have him.

STOP.

When fabric melts your heart

While our family was visiting over the weekend we managed to squeeze in a little birthday celebration for our baby girl, who turned ONE this month (WHAT?!?). For their first birthday, each of my children have received a fabric book of sorts from their Aunt Evie. Each book is beautiful and unique and I adore them all, but Aunt Evie really outdid herself this time.

I mean, look at this:
Picture
It came complete with a little dolly...with a perfect little dress...and pig tails.

Page 1: Garden
The kids adore the swing

Page 2: Kitchen
Complete with window overlooking the garden, of course.
(is your heart melting yet?!)

Page 3: Bedroom
What can I even say? Too adorable.

Page 4: Bathroom
It even stands up like a doll house

WATER in the bathtub!

The kitchen curtains are precious.

Seriously perfect.
I cannot even handle how cute this book is. All three kids LOVE playing with it!

I could go on and on and on....about it, but I know you just want to stare at the pictures to see how amazing it is, so I will  stop now and let you continue to enjoy this sweet little gift.

THANK YOU, AUNT EVIE!

Joy? Our house if full of the stuff this weekend.

The boy cousins, who are only 5 weeks and 300+ miles apart, are reunited for a quick spring-fling.

There are hugs, kisses and shenanigans of the four (and two, and one) year old variety. There will be giggles and farts and giggles about farts, and lots and lots of food, because, well, we are Italian.

Eight people, two bedrooms, blankets everywhere
and a single bathroom for all. And there is plenty of room for all the fun that will be had. Hundreds of pictures will be taken.

Our visits are few and far between and we always make the most of it because we are ever-aware of the need to seize these moments.

When the dust settles after this whirlwind weekend I will come back to this little space here on the interwebs, but quickly, before the weekend is over, I wanted to say THANK YOU for visiting and for reading and for all your comments, love and support my first week sharing publicly. I have been completely blown away by the activity on this blog this week! THANK YOU!

STOP.
